Jessica Caylyn, Lead Singer/Nashville Recording Artist
Audiences, critics, and peers all agree: Jessica Caylyn is an unstoppable cocktail of sassy confidence, vocal power, and fearless determination.
Jessica hit the stage early. At 10 years of age, she fell in love with the “natural high” of live performing, and Bay Area audiences were quick to fall in love with her. It wasn’t long before Jessica was singing the national anthem to thousands at gargantuan venues like the Laguna Seca Raceway.
She soon found her home turf: country-rock. In early 2010, she formed the Jessica Caylyn Band, a
5-piece lineup of top-notch musicians. She immediately began performing widely and garnering exuberant reviews. With a voice “soulful like Adele with the power, breath control, and wide range of Martina McBride,” she easily took the Bay Area music scene by storm.
“Performing will always be my true passion,” says Jessica, and it’s evident. She achieves a level of audience interaction that many performers can only wish for. Her personality is genuine and high-energy. Her stage presence is as spontaneous as it is audacious. Jessica is a consummate crowd-worker, and her impromptu remarks always make for a memorable show. Jessica performs a lively combo of modern country songs, classic rock, and originals. Live audiences are often the very first to hear Jessica’s unrecorded originals, hot off the griddle.
Since October 2010, Jessica has been making regular trips to Nashville to cowrite with Music City's experienced songwriting community. It was there she met her producer, Steffon Hamulak, who assembled a crack team of big-name country sidemen to back Jessica on her first EP, On the Edge. Today, On the Edge has been heard over the airwaves in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Germany, Spain, and the U.K. It features three upbeat songs and a bonus ballad, three of which were penned in part by Jessica.
The opening cut, “Just Can’t Help Myself,” was chosen April 2011 Best Song of the Month by Songwriter Universe. The same song took May 2011 Best Song of the Month at the Nashville Songwriters Association International (Sacramento Chapter). To top it off, in June she represented 101.9 “The Wolf” at the Texaco Country Showdown and again placed first.
“Caylyn has a powerful singing voice…the sort of voice that will almost certainly get her noticed,” said music journalist Dan MacIntosh. Others have weighed in as well, including Nashville songwriter and musician Greg Friia. “She is a writer way beyond her years. She has a great melodic sense, and it’s easy to fall in love with the sound of her voice.”
Jessica has performed at AT&T Park, the Oakland Coliseum, Alcatraz Island, and countless casinos, clubs, hotels, restaurants, festivals and fairs, private parties, and weddings.
Her media credits include a live appearance on Good Day Sacramento, a morning TV show, where she performed three songs from her EP on-air. She was interviewed for the TV show "Conversations" with Robin Fahr which was broadcast multiple times. The Brentwood Press and Contra Costa Times have covered the launch of her career as a singer-songwriter. Jessica Caylyn has been interviewed on several radio stations and is pursuing a larger radio tour campaign for winter 2011-2012.
Jessica plans on touring internationally within the next five years. She’s writing songs that could be produced as country, pop, or rock-- anything that helps Jess tell her story. She’s got talent, determination, and isn’t afraid of rejection—ingredients to success in the music industry. Look out world!

Jeff Young, Bass, Music Director, backup vocals
Jeff started playing bass at the age of 13. Starting with lessons from a cool guitar teacher named George Cole. From there, he played in various garage bands and then hooked up with Bay Area guitarist Danny Jones and drummer Dave Tweedy. This group won a couple Best of the Bay Honors from a local radio station in the San Francisco Bay Area. Looking to further his education, Jeff studied with local jazz bassist Dewayne Pate. From there Jeff attended Bass Institute & Technology (BIT). While in L.A., Jeff gigged with different bands doing various types music. Upon returning to the Bay Area Jeff has studied with bassist Kai Eckhardt. Jeff has shared the stage with Kenny Chesney, Rodney Atkins, and Pat Travers among others. Jeff's breadth of experience, passion for performing, and respect he's earned in the Bay Area music community made him an easy choice for the Music Director position.
Bill Sheridan, Guitar and Vocals
From a young age, music was always a fascination for Bill. At the age of 13, Bill was inspired to borrow an acoustic guitar and re-string it left handed after hearing a fellow class mate play “Wild Thing”. This began a musical journey that continues to this day. Blending Old School Rock and Blues with healthy portions of RnB, a little Smooth Jazz and Funk, Bill has brought his unique style to countless cover bands as well as original bands. In addition, Bill is a song writer, arranger and side man for a number of local East Bay bands and Solo Artists.
As an original member of The Jessica Caylyn Band, Bill began as the Rhythm Guitar player. He doesn't like being pinned down to one type of guitarist since his guitar playing is organic on stage and he could always play leads when needed. In August 2011, Bill stepped in to the Lead Guitarist role and adds rich harmonizing vocals to the mix. He’s discovering that the musical journey he began years ago still has some new roads to travel!

Jason Kinney, Guitar and Bass
Jason’s lived on the road most of his life and has seen many strange things, different schools, and listened to every kind of music. His father, Bob Kinney, has devoted his life as a guitarist in bands, travelling all over the world. After bugging his father enough to let him try the guitar, his father tested him with "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" by the Hollies. Less than three days later, he had it down. Jason was nine years old then and has been playing music ever since. Jason has always treated music as a profession. He has worked his way up to a high in demand player. He’s even been a guitar technician for Ronnie Montrose and a stage-hand for Jason Bonham (just to name a couple).
Jason's primary role with the JCB is as rhythm guitarist, although when we need a bass sub, he is ready and willing. The fun Jason has playing music for others is evident by the joy he radiates on stage. After each gig, he is on “music high”! Blues, Classic Rock, Gospel, Country…he can play it all and is ALWAYS learning.

Mike Hutchings, Drummer
At the age of thirteen, Mike picked up an interest in music and bought his first drum set. He practiced for hours a day teaching himself how to play by listening to his favorite bands and imitating them as best he could. Inspired by drummers like John Bonham, Mitch Mitchell, Charlie Watts and Alex Van Halen, he began to form a signature style all his own. After several years of practicing, he began playing at a local church in his hometown of Windsor, CA which opened the door to forming a band and playing at many different venues all over California.
He later moved to the Sacramento area where he joined the Mary Lynn Band allowing him to play at one of the largest Christian venues in California, Spirit West Coast. He also plays several other instruments, and is proud to be 100% self taught. Though fairly new to country music, Mike did grow up with a bit of country influence and the strong work ethic that goes with it.
